Since 2003, the Young Investigator Award has been established to recognize and honor outstanding individuals among the presenters at the annual congress of the Korean Society of Ultrasound Medicine. This prestigious award is generously sponsored by Byung Ihn Choi, the former chairman of the board, who originally contributed the prize money for the 2002 Bunshi Medical Award, leading to the establishment and management of the Young Physicians Fund.
Awardees are selected based on the quality of their abstract submissions and must be under the age of 40 at the time of presenting during the Scientific Sessions.
